What do you want to do every day?

This is the question I’ve been pondering, as I’m working on my life plan for next decade.

If you are young—say in your teens or twenties—ask yourself this question, define what you want, and build your life around it. It’s not always easy to do so, but you have a plenty of time and energy to make it happen.

Even if you are NOT so young—me included—don’t give up on it. Put together your wisdom and experience, create a plan, and start building a foundation of your dream life. Or your second life.

Doodle Card #500 – So Long

So long.
またね。

This is my five-hundredth Doodle Card. And as I mentioned before, this is my ‘last’ Doodle Card.

Since I created the first Doodle Card in May 2016, creating something every morning literally saved my life. I hated myself more than anyone else and lived in the past at that time—my mind was full of regret about my decisions and resentment against the people who insulted me. But, as I continued doodling, I began to notice that I still have the power to create something from scratch and change this world—even if it’s a tiny fraction of it. I was like, “well, then, why don’t I change my thoughts, beliefs, and entire life?” And I did change.

I will keep creating things every day. I just stop creating Doodle Card as I have been doing for last 17 months. My two characters, Small One and Sticky, will never disappear. We’ll see you when we see you.

Doodle Card #499 – Depend More On Yourself

Depend more on yourself.
他人よりも自分に頼ろう。

Self-reliance is the key to live your life.

In this world, there are millions of people who make you feel bad, but it’s your responsibility to choose how you feel. It’s meaningless to expect them to change for the better.

In this world, there are millions of things that make you feel anxious, but deep within you, you always have the power to overcome them.

Rely on yourself, and unleash your true self. It’s much powerful than you’ve ever imagined.

Doodle Card #498 – You Get Only What You Need

You get only what you need.
必要なものだけ手に入る。

“You can’t always get what you want / But if you try sometimes well you just might find / You get what you need” — The Rolling Stones, You can’t always get what you want

This is exactly true, especially during tough times.

What you need is almost always different from what you want. If you only focus on your ‘wants’ and aren’t aware of your ‘needs,’ you’ll get nothing.

Identify what you want and what you need. Grab what you need, and figure out how you can get what you want by using it. Don’t even expect that someone gives you what you want or what you need.

Doodle Card #497 – Respond Quick

Respond quick.
素早く反応しよう。

If you don’t respond quickly to anything—or don’t respond at all—that’s also a response. That shows your indecisiveness, inefficiency or arrogance, depending on the situation. No matter how it is described, it’s weakness—and it can be a significant disadvantage if you are in business.

Thanks to advanced technologies, many people use various messenger apps and consider ‘quick response’ as a new standard. They don’t even think they respond ‘quick’ because it’s quite normal for them to reply right after they get a message.

These people are your customers. They have little tolerance for a slow response. If you don’t respond to them in a ‘timely’ manner, you might lose them—forever.

The same can be applied to your personal relationship. No matter what you use for communicating with others—email, messenger apps, or a carrier pigeon—as far as you communicate, you might as well respond quick.
