Doodle Card #461 – Take One More Step

Take one more step.
もう一歩進もう。

As Lao Tzu put it, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”

Set one big goal, and keep moving toward it. Take a rest when needed, but never settle. Every day, do a little extra work to be better, stronger, or smarter.

After all, taking one more step is the only way to reach to your goal—especially during tough times.

Doodle Card #460 – Shed Your Past

Shed your past.
過去を捨て去ろう。

There is no real ‘failure’ in our life. Something you did becomes a failure only if you recognize it as a failure.

But what’s the point of accepting something as a failure? A sense of guilt often paralyzes us and prevent us from taking a bold action to turn things around.

The purpose of accepting a failure is not to beat yourself up; it is to learn lessons from what you did. No one wants to fail, and no one likes failing. But if you faithfully accept a failure, it becomes a precious experience of life—that you can benefit from for the rest of your life.

Doodle Card #459 – Feel The Vibe

Feel the vibe.
雰囲気を感じよう。

When you meet or get in touch with your old friend after a long interval—like a class reunion—you may feel a different vibe. Sometimes positive, sometimes negative.

That’s very usual. You have changed, and your old friend has changed. Both of you are quite different from who you guys were 1 year ago, 5 years ago, or decades ago.

But if you feel a negative vibe from your old friend, that can be a problem. And most likely, the best possible solution is to gradually stay away from him or her. He or she might have been your good friend—or your best friend—before, but nostalgia won’t help you move forward; it’s just the legacy of the past.

Doodle Card #458 – Count Your Tears As Blessings

Count your tears as blessings.
涙は喜ぶべきもの。

Tears are the sweat from our soul.

We sweat all over our body after workout. When our soul is shaken or inspired by something or someone—it’s a workout for our soul—tears come out.

It’s okay to have tears in your eyes. It’s not always a good idea to weep, sob, or cry in front of other people, but let your soul work out as often as possible.
