‘Love yourself’—this is what I couldn’t do for decades. Even now, I can’t always do so, especially when I need to.
Loving ourselves is a basis for everything in our life. We can’t love others if we don’t love ourselves, and can’t build a healthy relationship with anyone either.
Loving ourselves always comes first. If you hate someone or resent someone’s insult, forgive the person. It doesn’t mean that you have to love the person; it is to protect yourself from negative feelings. This is one of the ways to show love to yourself.
